Broad Street selected as venue for 2-day VIA Music & New Media Festival

Broad Street, centrally located in East Liberty, in the East End of Pittsburgh, is preparing to experience the second annual VIA Music & New Media Festival,
on Friday October 7th and Saturday October 8th.  The 2-day event will cover the entire city block of Broad Street, transforming it into an arts and nightlife district, with main performances on an outdoor stage.

Situated on the newly renovated corridor of Broad Street, the event will showcase the location benefits, which include wide sidewalks, storefronts with open floor plans that flood with natural light and ample parking.  The corridor provides a variety of use for new business and considerable potential for real estate.

“This is going to be a great event, showcasing the Broad Street area of East Liberty,” said Anthony Pantoni, Associate at Colliers International | Pittsburgh.  “The Wedgwood Group has generously provided indoor space for the festival at 6022 – 6024 Broad Street, which will provide an indoor venue for the event in case of inclement weather.”

Colliers International | Pittsburgh  represents office and retail space for lease along Broad Street.  In just the past few years, this East End neighborhood has experienced a commercial development renaissance, highly conducive to business development.  The neighborhood is home to Google’s local office.  New retail stores, including The Home Depot, Target and Whole Foods have opened nearby and the business district has seen major public investments in infrastructure. Initiated in 2010, the VIA Music & New Media Festival was a Sprout Seed awarded project and first-ever festival of its kind for the Pittsburgh region.  Its programming is nationally unique, bringing together cutting-edge musicians and visual artists from home and around the world to perform over the course of 5 days and 40+ hours of events in various Pittsburgh neighborhoods.  The one-of-a-kind performances reflect the vibrancy of young artists and emergent technologies of today.  For more information and details on the event, please visit www.via-pgh.com.
