Colliers is thrilled to announce its involvement in assisting utility provider Duquesne Light Company with its relocation from Downtown Pittsburgh into a 124,000-square-foot space in the North Side’s Nova Place.
Lead brokers Patrick Sentner, Executive Vice President of the firm’s Occupier Services team, and market leader John Bilyak facilitated the deal, representing Duquesne Light Co. in its transition from the company’s previous location at 411 Seventh Avenue to 100 S. Commons. While a specific move-in date has not been determined, Duquesne Light Co. stated that it will be occupying Nova Place beginning in late 2025, potentially continuing into early 2026.
In an announcement published by Duquesne Light Co., Vice President of Communications and Corporate Responsibility Christine Waller stated that “Nova Place is a short distance from our current site, allowing employees easy access to different areas of downtown. The decision to enter into a long-term lease at Nova Place reaffirms our commitment to employees, Pittsburgh, our customers and the community.”
The company’s press release affirmed a term of at least 15 years in Nova Place, which has become one of the region’s most recognizable hubs for innovation and technology. Nova Place houses tenants such as Gecko Robotics, Innovation Works, Expedient, AT&T, Comcast, The Pittsburgh Technology Council, and others. The Nova Place complex, owned by Faros Properties, offers 1.5 million square feet of office, life science, robotics and data center space across three buildings, as well as a 14,000-square-foot fitness center and a 3,000-car parking garage. New York-based Faros obtained the property in 2015 and was represented by CBRE throughout the transaction.
“This was one of the best overall projects that I have ever worked on due to collaborative efforts internally and our professional interactions with the client, landlord, and their representative brokers,” commented Patrick Sentner regarding the deal process.
Duquesne Light Co. has affirmed that it will remain committed to servicing the Golden Triangle and region at large while consolidating its Pittsburgh-based operations into the North Side, where its other facilities and sister company are located.
