5200 Baum Boulevard Welcomes New Layne’s Chicken Fingers Location

Colliers is thrilled to welcome Texas-based restaurant chain Layne’s Chicken to the 2,647-square-foot former Boston Market space at 5200 Baum Blvd.

Executive Vice President Mark Anderson and Senior Associate Jonathan Levinson on Pittsburgh’s retail team facilitated the deal, bringing this new Layne’s location to the lively Shadyside neighborhood. Positioned directly across from UPMC Shadyside, 5200 Baum Blvd. sits on part of a site that UPMC has slated to be a future location for a Hillman Cancer Hospital.

“The opportunity to bring Layne’s Chicken Fingers to such a high-visibility spot near UPMC Shadyside and the Hillman Cancer Center aligns perfectly with our goal to serve the East End community and its dynamic blend of residents, healthcare professionals, and students. This location is poised to be a hub for the brand as it grows in the region,” said Senior Associate Jonathan Levinson.

Founded, or “hatched,” in 1994 with a goal of bringing its “small-town charm, friendly service, iconic chicken fingers, and secret sauce to the rest of the world…and beyond,” Layne’s Chicken first opened its doors in College Station, Texas and now has 25 locations currently open with plans to expand even further.

The chain offers original or spicy chicken finger meals, sandwiches, wraps, Texas toast, crinkle cut fries, milkshakes, as well as catering services. Their delicious food and friendly staff are bound to make your Layne’s experience worth the visit.

The team also represented Layne’s Chicken Fingers in another new location opening up in Parma, Ohio, with Colliers’ Cleveland retail team representing the landlord. The newest 2,860-square-foot space located at 1350 Pleasant Valley Road is expected to open by the end of 2024 or early 2025.

Congratulations to Mark Anderson and Jonathan Levinson for their work with the deal! Thanks to them, the rest of the Pittsburgh office now has a perfectly “business-related” excuse to enjoy some delicious chicken and fries more often.

Be sure to stop by Layne’s at both their Baum Blvd. and Oakland locations!
