New Year, New Soakee for Colliers International | Pittsburgh at Annual ALS Event
For the third year in a row, Colliers International | Pittsburgh participated in the ALS Association of Western Pennsylvania Chapter’s CEO Soak. But this year, two-time participant, Gregg Broujos, passed the torch on to Market Leader, Dick Cassetti.
Pittsburgh Pirates Broadcaster, Steve Blass, served as MC of the event announcing all participants and the companies they were representing. Cassetti, along with other CEOs, presidents, upper-level managers, and even the University of Pittsburgh basketball team, stood in the fountain at PPG nervously waiting for the water to turn on.
“The anticipation of the cold water was almost worse than the actual water hitting us everywhere,” said Cassetti.
Once the fountains were turned on, all of the “soakees” stood in the fountains for one minute while ice cold water poured down on them.
The brokers and marketing staff from the Pittsburgh office were able to stand by and cheer on Cassetti while he represented Colliers at the event.
“I remember participating in the ALS ice bucket challenge a few years ago, so it was enjoyable to see my boss contribute to such a great cause on a much larger scale,” said Client Services Coordinator, Molly Sheerin, “Overall the CEO Soak is a great event and I look forward to next year.”
With the help of many generous contributors, Cassetti made the list of Top Ten Fundraisers and was able to raise $1,235 dollars for ALS research. Total, the ALS Association was able to raise $98,392, surpassing their goal of $85,000.
