Waynesburg University moving from Southpointe I to Southpointe II

Colliers International | Pittsburgh is proud to announce that the tenant advisory team of Jessica Jarosz, William Leone and Patrick Sentner represented Waynesburg University in three lease transactions in 2010 totaling over 36,000 Square Feet.

The largest of the transactions was the Southpointe branch campus moving from Southpointe I to Southpointe II next year.  The branch campus is moving from Summit Corporate Center at Southpointe, where it has been located for the past decade, to a new building in Southpointe II called Embassy Park.

Embassy Park, which is being developed by Horizon Properties Group LLC, is currently under construction.

Waynesburg University expects to move into its new space by November, taking 17,000 square feet, only slightly more than the space it occupied in its previous location.  The university opted to move to Southpointe II in order to establish space specifically designed for its use.  The move will also place the university near CONSOL Energy’s headquarters and the new regional office of Range Resources, now under construction.

Patrick Sentner, Founding Principal at Colliers International | Pittsburgh, who represented Waynesburg University as part of the Colliers International | Pittsburgh tenant advisory team, said the new building gives the university a first-floor location that will be more visible and have better access for students.  “That will give them a much better overall flow and a much greater presence within the building,” he said, noting the location near the Canonsburg exit of Interstate 79 also will help.  “The Southpointe area has been a very strong area for Waynesburg to be able to attract students.”

Waynesburg University offers graduate programs in business administration, education, nursing and counseling at its Southpointe Center and also maintains its administrative office for its network of branch campuses there as well.
