Colliers International | Pittsburgh celebrates Bring Your Child To Work Day 2014

DSC_0458The youngest members of the Colliers International | Pittsburgh team joined the office during Bring Your Child to Work Day on Thursday, April 24, 2014 bringing with them smiles, laughs, and loads of personality. The eight fresh-faced children started out their day with a game of Pin the Leasing Sign on the Gulf Tower. The key was to place the leasing sign on the building where there was great visibility.

A few of the young brokers-in-training had the opportunity to shadow an actual tour where they learned about one of our properties and the aspects of giving a tour.

Possibly the most exciting activity of the day was the office scavenger hunt, which included a few surprise items such as bowling pins, dumbbells, and basketballs. Clearly, these are necessities in any successful brokerage firm.

The focus for the day was on the importance of marketing for commercial real estate. The children learned about the various ways our firm markets our properties, our company, and our brand. They created marketing flyers for their homes, complete with homemade drawings and property information explaining why their house was the coolest place to live.

Ed Lawrence, Vice President of Office Brokerage commented, “My son, Charlie (8 years old) thoroughly enjoyed himself and would now like to pursue not only a career as an astronaut but also a commercial real estate broker – with focus on office leasing of course”.
